Anna – Seychelles Part 4 La Digue

Filed under: Travel — avidovi at 1:22 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2024  Tagged , ,

Lastly this island has 2500 inhabitants, but it was my absolute favorite. It has an absolutely relaxed atmosphere and the most beautiful beaches i think ill ever see in my life. Since it is so small, there is hardly any cars on the island. The people here either get around by walking or by bike (which is what my boyfriend and I decided to do.) This is the nr. 1 bike-rental on the island: https://ariasrentals.com But you can also walk around until you find one!:-)

This is the Anse Source D’Argent in the L’Union Estate Park. You do have to pay an entry fee for this one, but I think the pictures speak for themselves as to the money being worth it 😉

Here’s the website of the park you have to walk through to enter it: https://www.lunionestate.com

As I’ve mentioned the beaches on la Digue are absolutely unreal, so to finish the Seychelles-post series I want to share a few more of my boyfriend’s gorgeous pictures from the island:

Anna – Seychelles Part 3 MahĂ©

MahĂ© is the biggest island of the Seychelles (but still quite small, with only 72.000 inhabitants). It is also where you can find the capital Victoria. To be honest, it wasn’t my favorite city I’ve ever been to. But the Seychelles isn’t really a place that you go to for city-trips. You go there for the absolutely stunning nature.

This is a picture of the Petite Anse. I got very lucky with my travel buddy, because it was my boyfriend who is a passionate photographer (he took all of the nice-looking pictures in this blog post!:-) )

This is a picture of the same beach that he took up close. It lies on the bottom of a hill, so it does take a little time to get there. It’s totally worth it though.

The only way to get there more quickly is by booking a stay in the Seychelles Four Seasons Hotel, as the beach is literally in front of the hotel. If you’re interested, here’s link: https://www.fourseasons.com/seychelles/ (As you might guess however, it is super expensive!)

Anna – Seychelles Part 2 Praslin

Filed under: Travel — avidovi at 5:35 pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2024  Tagged , ,

Praslin is the second largest island of the Seychelles, but it only has 8.000 inhabitants. In my opinion, this island is a little wilder than Mahé. It is basically a huge tropical rainforest thats surrounded by a few buildings and beautiful beaches.

As the name suggests however, it does rain quite alot, so my days there were quite wet. But since it was still warm, i didnt mind at all!

I did a hike trough the forest, which is called VallĂ©e de Mai. This it’s official website, with all kinds of information, in case you’d like to learn more: http://www.sif.sc/vdm

I saw all kinds of plants, fruits, spiders and the famous coco de mer, which is the biggest kind of coconut in the world, that only grows in the seychelles.

I visited the Seychelles in August 2022 and want to share a little bit about my journey. If you don’t know: the Seychelles is a country in the east of Africa. It consits of several small islands and only has less than 100.000 inhabitants in total – so it’s pretty small! Its currency looks like this:

It’s called Seychelles-Rupee. 1 SCR is currently worth around 0,07€. The Seychelles isn’t a very cheap destination, but my boyfriend and I decided to save up and visit this tropical dream-destination!

Since it has to import most of its groceries, food is pretty expensive there. The only really afforable options are the so-called take-away shops. These are kitchens, belonging to locals, who sell food to-go. We loved these, and got them many times.

In total we visited the Seychelles for around 2 weeks and stayed on three different islands: Mahé, Praslin and la Digue.

Lili – travels (2): Milan, Italy

Last spring I visited Milan. We spent 3 days in the city, sigthseeing and eating great italian food.
The most important is the Duomo, which is the biggest and most beutiful attraction next to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
You can go up to the Cathedral where you can have a breathtaking view to the city. (you can by your tickets here: https://www.duomomilano.it/en/guided-tour-and-incentive/)

Next to the Cathedral there is the Gallery, it’s one of the most famous one in Milan where you can find all the designer brands and great restaurants. It’s also worth to visit even if you don’t want to buy anything or you consider it too expensive.

After walking a lot of kilometers and maybe you want to have a but of a rest, you can have a picnic in the park of the Castel Sforzeco (https://www.milanocastello.it/en)

The view is amazing and there are a lot of other people who are enjoying the sun during the afternoon. If you want to see everything you should plan it beforehead to have enough time for eveything. In the website you can find the openning hours and you should also keep in mind when the sun goes down.

After sunset or if you want to enjoy the sunset from a nice spot, I can recommend Navigli (an area which is crossed by the river. You can drink some tasteful Aperol Spirts on the side of the river or you can have a few bites.

There is also a great ice cream/crepes shop, where an old nice man making it with caring and he is so nice. I can 100% recommend it if you are a sweet tooth.

Accomodation
We were at a hotel a bit further from the center but it was at walking distance and with a nice weather it’s totally worth it walking in the small streets and visiting the real part of Milan as well.
Most of the hotels have breakfast, so you can eat in the bufee in the morning and later in the after noon you can find great “taglio” pizza, they sell it for gramms and you can decied how much you want to order and also you can choose more flavours for the same price as if you order one average size pizza.

3 Days Record in Barcelona (2024.02.23 ~ 2024.02.25)

Last February, I visited Barcelona. It was my first trip since I came to Valencia, so I was looking forward to it and worried a little. It took about 4~5 hours to get there by alsa bus. (+You will be able to get some discount by applying the ESN discount code!)

After I arrived there, the first place I went was Barceloneta beach. I sat on the sandy beach and watched the sunset. Also, the moonlight in the sea was bright and beautiful.

On the second day, I went to watch the football game of FC Barcelona. It was sunny at first, then rained in the middle. It was a little cold but it was okay because we won 4:0 : )

On the last day, I went to Sagrada Familia, but I couldn’t enter inside because I didn’t have a ticket. I was disappointed a little but it’s okay because I’m going to Barcelona again this Easter.

If you’re going to visit Sagrada Familia, I recommend you to make a reservation in advance on this site 😉 (https://sagradafamilia.org/en/tickets)

It was a short trip, but it was enough to fell in love with this city! : )

Warm welcome at my first post on this site.
In the beggining, I want to menion that you can already get to know me on the ‘About us’ page. I am passionate about travelling and I also like doing sports.

In the last few weeks I was exploring Spain, the subourbs of Valencia and also did a few days trip to Andalucia.

I strongly reccomend you the get your guide app or website, where you can sign up and book different activities for your upcoming trip.
link: https://www.getyourguide.com/andaluzia-l68/

I made my trip with Erasmus Life. (here is the link for their website: https://www.erasmus-valencia.com/ )
They are a non-profit organization group and if you are a student I can 100% reccomend them to you. Their prices are cheap and they make one-day trips and long days trips as well.
I usally travel with them, we book our places together with friends.

This time we visited 4 cities. Granada, MĂĄlaga, Sevilla and CĂłrdoba. We spend 1 day in each city and it was enough to discover the main sights and enjoy our time. We also got tour guides included in the price, so we could get to know the city the best way possible.

During the evening there are a lot of bar open so you can choose from many options. The drinks are at average price and I recommend going to a bar with great vibe before going to the club because inside everything is so pricey.
Also there is clubs at every corner with different type of musics, so you can choose your preference. The prices of entrance ticket are average (all around 10euros). The clubs open around 11pm and you can stay there till the sun rises.
